Leonardo DiCaprio and Bad Bunny have endorsed Kamala Harris
Leonardo DiCaprio and Bad Bunny have announced their endorsement of Kamala Harris as the next Presiden to the United States – see what they had to say below.
This past weekend, DiCaprio – who is famously an environmentalist outside of his esteemed acting career – took to social media to share a video in which he championed Kamala Harris for President and explained his reasons for doing so.
In his video, DiCaprio discussed the damage of recent hurricanes Helene and Milton, saying “these unnatural disasters were caused by climate change.” He also went on to point out that Harris has “helped lead the most significant climate action in US history, including passing the Inflation Reduction Act.”
DiCaprio then slammed Harris’ opposing candidate Donald Trump, who he says “continues to deny the facts. He continues to deny the science”.
The Oscar-winning actor said in his caption: “We need leaders who are equipped to enact climate policies that will help save the planet, and that’s why I’m casting my vote for @KamalaHarris on November 5. She has helped lead the most significant climate action in U.S. history, and under her leadership we will be able to accomplish ambitious goals on climate policy that will move our country forward.”
Last night (October 27), Puerto Rican rapper-singer Bad Bunny similarly pledged his support for Harris by sharing clips of Harris’ plans for Puerto Rico – a territory of the United States – four times on his Instagram stories. Of the four posts, two focused on Harris saying she would never forget Trump’s treatment of Puerto Rico.
It is worth noting that while Puerto Rico as a territory does not carry any electoral college votes in presidential elections, there are upwards of hundreds of thousands of Puerto Rican natives who resided in all-important swing states such as Florida, Wisconsin, North Carolina and more who are allowed to vote.
Harris’ address to Puerto Rico came on the same day as Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally, where comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called the territory “a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean” and joked that Latinos “love making babies,” adding: “They do. There’s no pulling out. They don’t do that. They come inside. Just like they did to our country.”
DiCaprio and Bad Bunny are now the latest high-profile names to throw their support between Harris as President.
Last weekend (October 25), Beyoncé appeared at Harris’ Houston rally on October 25. Speaking at the rally, Beyoncé said: “I’m not here as a celebrity; I’m not here as a politician; I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares—deeply—about the world my children and all of our children live in. A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies. A world where we’re not divided: our past, our present, our future merge to meet us here.”
Other famous faces that are backing Harris include Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, Megan Thee Stallion, P!nk, Bon Iver, Quavo, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Finneas.
Most recently, it was announced that Gracie Abrams, members of The National, Mumford & Sons and Remi Wolf would be performing at Harris’ Wisconsin rally on October 30.
