Liam Gallagher has remarked on the tragic death of Liam Payne.
The former One Direction member reportedly fell to his death yesterday (October 16) at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. CNN has since confirmed the British singer’s death via a statement from local authorities. Payne was 31 when he died.
Now, the Oasis frontman has commented on Payne’s passing on X/Twitter. This morning (October 17), Gallagher tweeted in seeming reference to the singer’s death: “Life is precious kids and you only get to do it ONCE go easy LG x.”
Further down in the comments, one user asked Gallagher: “Have you seen the news about Liam Payne?” He went on to respond: “I have it’s very sad.”

Gallagher joins a wave of tributes honouring the singer, who joined One Direction in 2010 alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik after competing on talent show The X Factor.
Harry Styles’ mother took to Instagram, writing: “Just a boy…”, while Zayn Malik’s sister Waliyha shared an old picture of herself with Liam, writing: “I can’t believe it, I honestly have no words for this sad moment… I really can’t believe it”.
Meanwhile, The X Factor official Twitter/X page also shared a statement reading: “We are heartbroken by the sad passing of Liam Payne. He was immensely talented and, as part of One Direction, Liam will leave a lasting legacy on the music industry and fans around the world. Our thoughts are with his friends, family and all who loved him.”
In a statement to Reuters yesterday, local police said they were called to the hotel in Palermo after being notified of an “aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol,” though the man was not identified as Payne.
Local medical emergency service SAME also claimed to Rolling Stone that Payne fell from a height of “about 13 or 14 meters,” and that he “suffered severe injuries incompatible with life.”
In other news, details of Liam Payne’s 911 call made by the hotel head of reception have been published.
