Lizzo Declares She’s ‘Still Bad’ With New Song Announcement: Here’s When It Arrives
Lizzo has new music on the way, with the hitmaker announcing Wednesday (March 12) that her next single, “Still Bad,” is arriving in less than a day.
Sharing a red-tinted close-up photo of her face with rosy flecks of light surrounding her eyes, Lizzo wrote on Instagram, “STILL BAD THURSDAY 12PM EST,” with two blood drop emojis.
The new project will come just a couple of weeks after the Yitty founder dropped her comeback single “Love in Real Life” in late February. The song serves as the title track to Lizzo’s upcoming album.
Aside from “Pink” for Greta Gerwig’s 2023 Barbie soundtrack, the songs mark Lizzo’s first proper releases since 2022’s Special. The album reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and spawned two-week Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “About Damn Time,” which also won record of the year at the 2023 Grammys.
The “Truth Hurts” singer previously teased that a new song after “Love in Real Life” was on its way via snippets on Instagram. On March 6, she posted a video of herself dancing in a red bodysuit to a funk-inspired track on which she asserts, “He act like he can’t be replaced, OK?/ Well, he gon’ hate to see me leave/ But love to watch me walk away.”
On Tuesday, she shared another snippet, this time featuring the lyrics, “Plot twist, I’m doing great/ I make that ‘been through’ sh– look sexy anyway/ I don’t need him, I need to throw a– in a minute/ Break fast with my b—hes … He knocked me down/ I thought I’d never get my fine a– off the ground.”
