Mad Cool 2024 is well under way, with day three offering a string of unforgettable performances from some of music’s most exciting names.
Alvvays deliver a dose of dream pop under the Madrid sun
Taking to the Orange Stage, Alvvays perform a pensive, indie pop set, leaving behind a bittersweet residue sure to stay with fans long after the final notes of ‘Easy On Your Own’.
Black Pumas bring the groove to the Mad Cool stage
Black Pumas offer the perfect soundtrack to the hazy, pink Madrid sunset through a soul-stirring psychedelic set. Fans in the front row were even treated to a personal serenade from Eric Burton, as he jumped down from the stage to get closer to those braving the barrier in the heat.
Sum 41 play one of their last shows in Madrid
The pop-punk icons drew one of the festival’s biggest crowds last night, with fans keen to hear hits ‘In Too Deep’ and ‘Fat Lip’ live in Spain. It marked their last festival slot in the city before they return for their farewell headline show later this year.
Jessie Ware brings The Pearl Club to Mad Cool
Overjoyed to perform in Madrid for the first time, Jessie Ware delighted punters with disco hit after hit, transforming Mad Cool’s Orange Stage into her very own Pearl Club. She even departed with a cover of Cher‘s ‘Believe’, which went down a storm.
Julia Sabaté proves she’s one to watch
Taking to the Mahou 0,0 Tostada stage, Spanish-Dutch artist Julia Sabaté amassed new fans with her melodic fusion of pop and electronica.
Måneskin close the night in style
A fitting, frenzied finale for day three, the Italian rockers enthuse the hoards of fans gathered at the main stage with a blistering, old-school rock and roll set. Perhaps one of the weekend’s loudest performances, the electric guitar solos stretched well into the night.
