Madonna shares praise for Sabrina Carpenter’s new ‘Vogue’ magazine cover
Madonna has praised Sabrina Carpenter’s recent Vogue cover. Check out the posts below.
The ‘Espresso’ artist appears on the front of the March 2025 issue of the iconic fashion and lifestyle magazine. Many fans have noticed that the images bear a striking resemblance to Madonna’s Vanity Fair shoot from 1991.
Carpenter’s Vogue spread was even shot by the Queen Of Pop’s longtime collaborator, photographer Steven Meisel, who also helmed the latter’s aforementioned Vanity Fair cover.
In the photos, Carpenter poses in a light blue satin cone bra corset mini dress designed by Dolce & Gabbana. This look sparked comparisons to Madonna’s signature Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra from her ‘Blond Ambition’ tour in 1990.
Madge seemingly clocked the reference, and commented on Carpenter’s Instagram post of her Vogue cover. “Is this a Valentine’s present to me?” she jokingly asked, before adding the side-eyeing emoji and a light blue love heart.

Meisel photographed Madonna for her Vogue Italia cover in 1991 too.
Carpenter paid homage to the ‘Like A Prayer’ star at the MTV VMAs 2024. Here, she donned a white sequin Bob Mackie gown, which was famously worn by Madonna at the 1991 Oscars.
Last month, she mentioned the Queen Of Pop when hitting out at Stock, Aitken & Waterman’s “regressive” comments about her image. Carpenter said women being judged on their appearance wasn’t “something new” and that “female artists have been shamed forever”.
She added: “In the ’00s it was Rihanna, in the ’90s it was Britney Spears, in the ’80s it was Madonna – and now it’s me. It’s essentially saying that female performers should not be able to embrace their sexuality in their lyrics, in the way we dress, in the way we perform.”
During her new interview with Vogue, Carpenter spoke about “feeling inspired by images of women that felt very strong and hyperfeminine” while recording her Grammy-winning latest album, ‘Short n’ Sweet’.
“And then being like: If only she said what she was actually thinking,” she continued.
At this month’s Grammys 2025, Carpenter won the awards for Best Pop Solo Performance (‘Espresso’) and Best Pop Vocal Album (‘Short n’ Sweet’). She recently announced a deluxe edition of ‘Short n’ Sweet’ featuring Dolly Parton, due to arrive this Friday (February 14).
In other news, the singer is set to perform at next month’s BRITs 2025 where she will also receive the prestigious Global Success award. Additionally, she is in the running for International Artist Of The Year and International Song Of The Year (‘Espresso’).
Sabrina Carpenter will play a huge outdoor headline show at BST Hyde Park in London this summer, with support coming from Clairo, Beabadoobee and more. She’ll embark on the UK and European leg of her tour next month, and headline Primavera Sound alongside Charli XCX and Chappell Roan in June.
