Marc Antony Extends No. 1 Record on Tropical Airplay Chart With ‘Ale Ale’

Marc Anthony banks his record-extending 37th No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart as “Ale Ale”
rises to rule the chart dated July 13.

The single from the salsa juggernaut lands atop Tropical Airplay – after five consecutive weeks in the runner-up slot – with 6.1 audience impressions on reporting stations to the chart in the week ending July 4, according to Luminate.

With his 37 career No. 1s, Marc Anthony pads his mark for the most champs among all acts since Tropical Airplay launched in 1994. Here’s a look at the artists with the most No. 1s on the list:

37, Marc Anthony
29, Victor Manuelle
24, Prince Royce
18, Romeo Santos
14, Elvis Crespo
14, Gilberto Santa Rosa
13, Jerry Rivera
12, Juan Luis Guerra 440

Anthony boasts five Tropical Airplay No. 1s in the 2020s, after landing 13 in the ‘10s, seven in the ‘00s and 12 in the 1990s. He first led with “Te Conozco Bien” beginning in June 1995 and had most recently reigned with “Punta Cana” this February. Anthony also holds the record for the most total weeks atop Tropical Airplay, across all his No. 1s: 181.

The new chart coronation lands after Telemundo identified “Ale Ale” as an official summer anthem to live across its platforms and as the official song of the network’s UEFA Euro 2024 coverage.

“Ale Ale,” an anthem that celebrates Latin pride, is from Anthony’s latest album, Muévense, which reached a No. 4 high on Tropical Albums in May, giving the superstar his 15th top 10 on the chart.
