Mariah Carey isn’t ready for Christmas yet: “They always rush me”

Is it time to bring out the Christmas decorations? “Not yet,” Mariah Carey says.

Carey, the unofficial ‘Queen Of Christmas’, has officially declared that it’s “not yet” time to usher in the festive season via a new video posted to her social media account.

In the video, the ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ singer is seen sitting in a private jet before its pilot announces that they’re headed for the North Pole. Carey shouts back at him: “Not yet! Sorry!”. She then looks at the camera to add: “They always rush me.”

Watch the video below.

Even though Carey isn’t in feeling the Christmas spirit just yet, she’ll soon get into the mood as she’s due to kick off her ‘Christmas Time’ tour on November 6 in California. The tour will run through November and December, wrapping up a week shy of Christmas day.

The album arrived back in 1994, and contained the record-breaking single and festive classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’. The live shows will feature renditions of timeless holiday classics alongside fan favourites from the rest of her discography.

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Carey, who in August tragically lost both her mother and sister on the same day. Their causes of death have not been shared.
