Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ Reigns on TikTok Billboard Top 50

For the first time, a holiday-themed song tops the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart, as Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” reigns on the Dec. 30-dated survey.

The TikTok Billboard Top 50 is a weekly ranking of the most popular songs on TikTok in the United States based on creations, video views and user engagement. The latest chart reflects activity Dec. 18-24. Activity on TikTok is not included in Billboard charts except for the TikTok Billboard Top 50.

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” rules after three straight weeks at No. 2, having risen to the top two on the Dec. 9-dated tally. The song is concurrently No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week in a row (and 14th week total, since 2019).

Carey’s Christmas classic crowns the chart ahead of multiple fellow holiday standards as Christmas Day neared (the chart’s latest cutoff was Christmas Eve, Dec. 24). Usages of the songs ranged from holiday-specific comedy sketches to dances and soundtracking general Christmas content.

The chart’s top five also features Wham!’s “Last Christmas” at No. 4, a new peak after previously reaching No. 7. Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” (No. 8) and The Ronettes’ “Sleigh Ride” (No. 10) also reach the top 10.

Jose Feliciano’s “Feliz Navidad” (No. 17), Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” (No. 18), Geek Music’s “Elf – Main Theme” (No. 20), Sia’s “Snowman” (No. 26) and a pair of Ariana Grande tunes (“Santa Tell Me,” No. 44; “Last Christmas,” No. 48) also represent Christmas on the latest ranking.

The previous TikTok Billboard Top 50 No. 1, JID’s “Surround Sound,” featuring 21 Savage and Baby Tate, is the highest non-holiday appearance at No. 2, and Lana Del Rey’s “Let the Light In,” featuring Father John Misty, rounds out the top three.

Two songs from Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 appear in the top 10, with the Lil Uzi Vert-featuring “Everybody” rising to a new peak of No. 5 and “FTCU” vaulting to No. 7. “FTCU” in particular remains at No. 42 on the Hot 100, despite being passed by multiple rising holiday songs, thanks to an 11% gain in streams on services that report to the Hot 100 – 14.5 million streams in all, according to Luminate.

The definitive trend of uploads using “FTCU” is centers on Minaj’s “high heels on my tippies” lyric, with users showing off their own high-heeled shoes.

Bobby Bass’ “Hoist the Colours” is the week’s top debut, bowing at No. 15. The tune is being used to soundtrack dangerous ocean-based jobs to go with the song’s nautical motif, particularly with footage in the North Sea.
