Mia Goth accused of mocking ‘MaXXXine’ extra after assault: “No one will believe you because you’re nothing”
Mia Goth has been accused of mocked an extra on the film MaXXXine following an assault, according to reports.
In a new online report, James Hunter has provided updated details regarding Goth, director Ti West and A24 – the studio behind the film – claiming that Goth kicked him in the head while he performed as an extra on the set of the horror film. The lawsuit accuses Goth of battery and A24, Goth and West of wrongful termination after he was let go from set after the alleged incident.
Hunter claimed that he informed the film’s second assistant director that Goth almost stepped on him during one scene and in another, he alleges that Goth intentionally kicked him in the head and then “taunted, mocked and belittled him” when he went to use the bathroom.
Now, in a new interview with Dread Central, Hunter claims that Goth followed him to the toilet and pushed open the door to the cubicle he was using. He claims he tried to apologise for not locking the door and then alleges that Goth said to him: “nobody will believe you because you’re nothing. Get the fuck off my set, you big baby.”
Hunter went on to say they did not want him to return for the remaining two days that were left of his shoot. A lawyer for Hunter told Variety the alleged quote had since been shared with Goth’s legal team.
In a statement provided to Dread Central, Goth, West and A24 have denied Hunter’s allegations saying they “are simply not true.”
The statement added: “As this is in active litigation, we cannot say more at this time but continue to vigorously defend Mia and the entire filmmaking team against these extremely baseless allegations.”
The official trailer for MaXXXine landed back in April and promised an action-packed ending to West’s popular horror trilogy. The third instalment in West’s horror series is set about six years after the events of X.
The trilogy began in 2022 with X, the slasher film which follows the cast and crew working on a pornographic film in Texas who find themselves threatened by a homicidal elderly couple.
Released six months later was Pearl, which told the origin story of the villain who would commit violent murderous acts at her Texan family home in 1918.
Maxxxine is a direct sequel to X, with Goth reprising her role as Maxine Minx, and co-producing the film.
In a four star review of the new film, NME said: “Given slightly less opportunity to impress here (only one role this time, and no monologues), Goth still outshines everyone else in sight. Just as sweetly unsettling as she was in the other two films, now turned ball-stomping survivor she caps the series with another one of horror’s greatest performances.
Maxxxine is in cinemas now.
