Michael B. Jordan “proud” of Jonathan Majors’ “resilience” following assault charge: “That’s my boy”
Michael B. Jordan has said that he is “proud” of Jonathan Majors’ “resilience” following a previous assault charge.
Jordan spoke to GQ about Majors and said that he would be open to working with the actor again. The pair worked together previously on Creed III.
Weeks after Creed III appeared in cinemas in March 2023, Majors was arrested on domestic violence charges in New York after he allegedly assaulted ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in the backseat of a car. The actor pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him.
The actor, who faced four charges of assault, aggravated harassment and harassment, was found guilty on two of the charges. He was found not guilty of one count of assault in the third degree and one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree. Majors avoided prison and was instead sentenced to probation.
After this, Majors was dropped from Marvel and his film Magazine Dreams was dropped from the release schedule at the time.
Speaking to GQ, Jordan said it was a “tough situation” to watch unfold.
“But he’s doing great, just got engaged,” Jordan said of Majors. “I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”
When asked if he would work with Majors again, Jordan replied: “Yes. Yes.”
Briarcliff Entertainment acquired the project and revealed that the film will be released theatrically on March 21.
The film tells the story of an aspiring bodybuilder named Killian Maddox who abuses steroids in his mission to become a sports icon.
“Elijah’s film made a well-deserved splash in Sundance and Briarcliff is looking forward to taking his story to the big screen across the country in early 2025,” Briarcliff’s CEO Tom Ortenberg said in a statement.
“Jonathan Majors’ transcendent performance as Killian Maddox will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most compelling and transformative roles in recent cinema history. We are honored to bring this extraordinary work to theaters nationwide, inviting audiences to witness a story that will resonate long after the credits roll.”
