Miriam Margolyes names “unfriendly” ‘Graham Norton Show’ guest she didn’t like
Miriam Margolyes has revealed the celebrity she didn’t enjoy meeting on The Graham Norton Show.
Speaking at the Hay Festival on June 1, the actor opened up about her past experiences on the popular talk show, in which she has appeared alongside stars such as Stanley Tucci, will.i.am and Matthew Perry.
However, there was one celebrity who Margolyes claims “wasn’t friendly”. As reported by The Independent, the Harry Potter star “disliked” her experience of meeting singer Lily Allen.
The two were on a 2014 episode of chat show, appearing alongside actor Dominic Cooper.
Speaking about her experience meeting the ‘Smile’ singer, Margolyes said: “She thought when she was on the programme that it was all about her”.
She continued: “She thought, ‘Who is this woman? Miriam who?’”
Margolyes elaborated on her opinion, suggesting that she regrets her reaction. She claimed: “She wasn’t friendly and I didn’t like that and so I showed my dislike, which wasn’t very nice of me because she was much younger than me and I should have just taught her how to behave.”
Allen has not responded to the comments.
In other news, Olivia Rodrigo brought out Allen to duet ‘Smile’ at her recent London show.
On May 17, during her third night at London’s O2 Arena, Rodrigo introduced Allen by saying: “I think the best day of my whole career was when I got to sing with her at Glastonbury. I absolutely adore her. Will you please give it up for Miss Lily Allen!”
Elsewhere, Allen has recently announced that she is delving into new genres, sharing that she’s been “trying some stuff out” with country and western music.
As for Margolyes, earlier this year she told adult fans of the Harry Potter franchise to “grow up”, saying that they “should be over that by now”.
