Modest Mouse announce ‘Good News For People Who Love Bad News’ 20th-anniversary tour
Modest Mouse have announced details of a US tour, celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Good News For People Who Love Bad News’. Find dates and ticket details below.
It comes following the band marking the milestone anniversary earlier this year, when they shared a reissue and expanded edition of the LP, featuring eight additional remixes from the likes of MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden (‘The View’), Jacknife Lee (‘Bury Me With It’), Dan the Automator (‘Float On’), and Justin Raisen (‘The Good Times Are Killing Me’).
The album was the band’s fourth studio release and helped propel them to mainstream popularity. It also spawned the singles ‘Float On’, ‘Ocean Breathes Softly’ and ‘The World At Large’.
Now, the full list of dates celebrating the 20th anniversary have been announced, with Modest Mouse set to embark on over 20 shows across the US later this year.
Running between the end of October and the entirety of November, the dates kick off with an opening night at The Republik in Honolulu on October 28, followed by a stop at Paramount Theater two nights later (30).
From there, the November dates commence with three back-to-back performances at Rev Hall in Portland (1,2,3), followed by a show at Oakland’s Fox Theatre (5), and three shows at The Bellwether venue in Los Angeles (6,7,8).
Other shows include stops in San Diego, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Boston and more, before the dates wrap up with three consecutive nights at Brooklyn Steel in New York between November 21 and 23.
Tickets go on sale this Friday (August 23) and will be available here. An artist pre-sale is also open now and offered exclusively to members of the Modest Mouse fan club. Find a list of dates below.

Earlier this year, Modest Mouse teased a tour in various interviews, with frontman Isaac Brock revealing his hopes to tour the album with the original members of the band who played on the recording.
“It’s the only record where I can do a tour with all the living members, all the exact same members,” he told Rolling Stone. This is the case because it is the band’s only record to not feature late drummer Jeremiah Green due to his temporary departure from the band. Green died on December 31, 2022, just one month after being diagnosed with cancer, at the age of 45.
News of the new dates comes following the band wrapping up a recent US tour with Pixies and Cat Power earlier this summer. It also arrives in light of Brock recently confirming that he has already completed an album’s worth of new material, and hopes to share it by next spring (via Consequence).
If it turns out to be a full album, it’ll mark Modest Mouse’s first full LP since 2021’s ‘The Golden Casket’.
