Mumford & Sons announce intimate live-streamed show in Manchester
Mumford & Sons have announced details of an intimate, live-streamed show taking place in Manchester. Check out the details below.
The new show is set to take place in partnership with Amazon Music, as part of the latest run of City Sessions.
Held at the Aviva Studios in Manchester, the indie folk band will be taking to the stage on Wednesday April 2 for a performance that will be streamed live on Prime Video and the Amazon Music UK channel on Twitch.
It comes in celebration of the group’s forthcoming album ‘RUSHMERE’, which is set for release on March 28 via Island/Glassnote (pre-order/pre-save here).
The LP follows 2018’s ‘Delta’, and has already been previewed with the title track and the single ‘Malibu’. It also marks Mumford & Sons’ first LP as a trio, comprising Mumford, Ted Dwane and Ben Lovett. This comes as banjoist Winston Marshall departed the group in 2021.
As for City Sessions, the series has seen performances from the likes of Kings of Leon, Nelly Furtado and Glass Animals, and the Mumford & Sons gig marks the last of four shows across 2024 and 2025 presented by Aviva. Find out more details here.

News of the Manchester gig comes following Mumford & Sons playing an impromptu pair of pop-up acoustic shows in London earlier this week.
After being announced on Tuesday morning, they played at the 420-capacity Flat Iron Square in Central London later that night. Due to the length of the queues outside the venue, they decided to play a second set so they could let as many people in as possible. A rep for the band confirmed that over 1,000 fans had shown up for the surprise performance.
Check out the setlists and photos from the gigs here.
The shows acted as a warm-up for the group’s intimate club tour, which kicked off in Amsterdam last night (March 5). The nine-date tour includes a headline performance at the O2 Kentish Town Forum in London next Tuesday (March 11), as well as stops in Europe, Australia and North America. See the full list of dates here.
The band will also play a series of UK record store dates this spring, including an appearance at Rough Trade East in London. Find the full itinerary here.
