‘Music Bank in Madrid’ has been cancelled over venue’s temporary closure
‘Music Bank in Madrid’ has been officially cancelled after Real Madrid announced that the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium will be closed following decisions to “ensure strict compliance” with local noise regulations.
The statement was made on September 13 on Real Madrid’s official website, where it announced the postponement of all events and concerts to be held at the stadium for an unspecified amount of time.
“This decision is part of the set of measures that the club has been taking so that our strict compliance with current municipal regulations is verified,” the organisation said in its statement.
“Despite the soundproofing conditions of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and the reinforcement measures that have been undertaken, [its] compliance with regulations by the various organisers and promoters has been affected,” the statement read.
“Real Madrid will continue to work so that during the concerts the precise conditions are met in the production and emission of sound that allow concerts to be held in our stadium,” continued the organisation.
“Real Madrid will continue to collaborate with the Community of Madrid and the City of Madrid for sustainability and coexistence, and [we] guarantee our commitment to the city of Madrid and its environment.”
While new dates and details for other events scheduled to be held at the stadium from November through to March were confirmed by the organisation to receive a revised rescheduled date, it also confirmed that ‘Music Bank in Madrid’, originally slated to take place on October 12, has been “definitively cancelled”.
Tickets for ‘Music Bank in Madrid’ went on sale in mid-July, with top K-pop acts such as aespa, RIIZE, NMIXX, ENHYPEN and more announced as part of the performing line-up. However, information on refunds have yet to be announced by the event’s organiser as of writing.
