Mustafa has announced his first-ever world tour in support of his latest album ‘Dunya’.

The Sudanese-Canadian poet and singer-songwriter – and recent NME Cover star – announced yesterday (December 10) that he will make a trek across the US before heading to UK and Europe, all before performing in Ethiopia and Sudan.

Tickets for all US, UK and Europe dates will go on sale this Friday (December 13) at 10am PT time and 6pm UK time.

Presales will commence on Thursday (December 12) at the same timeslots – head over to his official website here to sign up. Tickets for his shows in North Africa will be sold via email RSVP, with contact links provided on his website.

To celebrate the tour announcement, Mustafa issued a YouTube video featuring a performance of songs off ‘Dunya’, featuring backing vocals from Daniel Caesar and Monica Martin, filmed at Los Angeles teahouse Tea at Shiloh. Watch it below.

This year, Mustafa earned a spot on both NME‘s 50 best albums of the year and 50 best songs of the year, with ‘Dunya’ and album cut ‘SNL’ respectively.

On ‘SNL’, Rhian Daly wrote: ““I think I wanna be a good guy / But good guys die first,” Mustafa laments on ‘SNL’, a melancholic, finger-picked highlight of his debut album, ‘Dunya’. It encapsulates his power perfectly: an ability to put you in the centre of heartbreaking vignettes using the smallest details and his rich, evocative voice.”

On ‘Dunya’, Karen Gwee wrote: “”No matter how much rage I approach the [songwriting] process with,” Mustafa told NME earlier this year, “it’s always translated into a kind of grace.” Fury and grief transmuted into wounded beauty: that is the Toronto artist’s sublime record ‘Dunya’, which weaves frayed threads of home, faith, belonging, loss and more into a captivating tapestry.”

‘Dunya’ features a laundry list of collaborators, such as Caesar, Clairo, The National’s Aaron Dessner and composer Nicolas Jaar.

To accompany his NME Cover feature, Mustafa curated an exclusive playlist with songs by Neil Young, Sami Yusuf, Sufjan Stevens, Fairouz, and Future. Listen to it here.
