NCT’s Ten drops tantalising music video for new solo single ‘Birthday’
NCT member Ten has released his latest solo project ‘Birthday’, alongside its corresponding music video.
SM Entertainment dropped the song and its alluring video treatment – which features the Thai K-pop idol performing the English song, complete with choreography, against several dark-themed sets – on October 26 at 6pm KST. It marks the latest addition to the ongoing ‘NCT Lab’ project, under the broader, company-wide ‘SM Station’ initiative.
“Every second, every minute, make me wanna celebrate it / Everything about you perfect, just the way your mama made it / You’re the best, you’re my first, first place / Sugar sweet in a million ways,” sings Ten on the new track.
‘Birthday’ was described by SM Entertainment in a press statement, prior to its official release, as an R&B dance song with a “dreamy vibe”. As part of the ‘NCT Lab’ project that launched earlier this year, ‘Birthday’ is the latest in a collection for new solo or unit releases that exist outside of official NCT albums.
Notably, it’s the fifth song released under the project so far, following Jaehyun’s ‘Forever Only’ in August; Taeil, Kun and YangYang’s ‘Rain Day’ in July; Mark, Doyoung and Haechan’s ‘CoNEXTion (Age Of Light)’ in March and Mark’s solo single ‘Child’ in February.
In other NCT news, NCT Dream are set to release NCT Dream The Movie: In a Dream, a feature film documenting the group’s historic two-day performance at the Seoul Olympic Stadium earlier this year.
The group’s first feature film will include individual interviews and candid stories from NCT Dream’s members, as well as never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of the preparations leading up to the group’s residency at the stadium.
NCT Dream The Movie: In a Dream will be distributed worldwide by Trafalgar Releasing, and is slated for release sometime in November. Ticketing details and an exact premiere date, however, have not been released at the time of writing.
