The Game Awards airs this week, and developers are teasing fans with news of their upcoming trailers that will be shown during the event.

As reported by EurogamerMafia: The Old Country will have a trailer shown. The developers took to social media to share the announcement, writing: “See you at The Game Awards!”

Mafia: The Old Country is a “gritty mob story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily” and was announced in August. Mafia: The Old Country is the fourth mainline game set in the series, although there have also been remasters, remakes, and mobile games.

“It’s happening, you guys! I will be at The Game Awards with a new trailer for Borderlands 4. I can’t wait!” wrote Randy Pitchford, the boss of Gearbox, developer of Borderlands. “Yes, there is GAME PLAY in the trailer!”

He added: “Also, in addition to a lot of in-game footage, I will share a sick, never-before-seen original cinematic sequence depicting a moment that occurs about half way between the end of Borderlands 3 and the beginning of Borderlands 4. I AM EXCITE[D]!”

Borderlands 4 is the fourth mainline instalment of the popular looter shooter franchise. It recently had a movie adaptation that didn’t fare well with criticsNME‘s two-star review noted that the “video game bust plays like a bot wrote it”.

Leading this year’s nominations at The Game Awards are Astro Bot and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The PlayStation platformer is up for seven different awards, and the RPG is in contention for seven also.

Palworld failed to pick up any nominations, with the game’s community manager, Bucky, writing: “No, I don’t think Palworld was snubbed. Twitter has become such a banterless place. Stop being so over dramatic gamers. Not everything is a conspiracy.”

In other news, GTA 6‘s unknown release date is causing publishers to put their own launch dates on hold.
