New Tony Hawk’s game isn’t just a remake: “New music, skaters and features”
The new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game won’t just be a remake of previous entries, with developers promising “new music, skaters and features”.
The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was released in 1999 and spawned a number of sequels, spin-offs and copycat titles. The last mainline entry was Pro Skater 5 in 2015 and a remastered bundle of the first two games was released in 2021.
However plans to give Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 a similar refresh were scrapped after developers Vicarious Visions were acquired by Activision Blizzard.
In 2024, Tony Hawk hinted that a new Pro Skater game that “fans will truly appreciate” was in the works and last month, professional skater Tyshawn Jones revealed he was involved in a new Tony Hawk’s game.
After Call Of Duty fans found a Pro Skater-inspired poster in Black Ops 6, a mysterious countdown appeared on the Tony Hawk video game website, with a full reveal planned for 6pm GMT tonight (March 4). However the Pro Skater social media account has been teasing what fans can expect from the new game.

“Loading new skaters,” reads one X post with new “features, music and parks” also promised.
2021’s Pro Skater 1+2 featured remastered versions of original levels alongside a refreshed soundtrack and a handful of new skaters, alongside the classics.
Reflecting on the legacy of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater last year, Hawk wrote: “My intention and expectation for the game was mostly for the enjoyment of skateboarders. I had no idea it would transcend a niche market to become a massive success and – as some have argued – change the course of skateboarding’s popularity (and possibly even skate trick evolution).
“It definitely changed the course of my life, and is a big reason that I get to ride my skateboard for a living to this very day. And most of the featured characters are still out there ripping and representing skateboarding’s diversity in the best ways possible.”
In other news, Millie Bobby Brown’s upcoming Netflix film The Electric State is getting a video game prequel, created by Avengers directors The Russo Brothers.
