Nicki Minaj scraps ‘Pink Friday 2’ deluxe, confirms ‘Pink Friday 3’
Nicki Minaj is working on a new album, ‘Pink Friday 3’ – find out more below.
Yesterday (September 16), the ‘Starships’ rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that her previously announced deluxe edition of ‘Pink Friday 2’ is being scrapped in favour of ‘Pink Friday 3’.
Last month, the rapper confirmed that deluxe’s release for September 13, saying it would come with more than three but fewer than seven new songs. The deluxe was delayed, and has now been axed altogether.
However, some of the new songs from the deluxe edition will make its way onto ‘Pink Friday 3’, according to Nicki Minaj. She wrote on social media: “Instead of doing a DELUXE to ‘Pink Friday 2’, I’ve decided to do a brand new album. I’ll still incorporate new songs like #Mamita & [The “anxiety” song] for the remainder of the tour tho…and I’ll announce the new date within the next couple weeks.”
She also confirmed that she’s recorded more songs recently: “The new music is just too good to be thrown away on a deluxe album. Last night, the songs I recorded were just way too iconic. I love you guys so much. You know that. I know you do. I’ll still give you something leading up to the announcement, so no worries.”
“‘PF3’ is about to do PRECISELY wtf BEEN needed to be done. TRUST ME BARBZ. IM SO EXCITED. BLESSED. LOVED (by the Barbz) & fortunately (for the Barbz & me), I’ve learned A LOT since 12/08/23.”

Minaj embarked on the UK and European leg of her ‘Pink Friday 2’ world tour earlier this year, with the stint including a show at The O2 in London. She later returned to the capital to headline Wireless Festival.
The artist is currently on the road in North America for her ‘Gag City Reloaded’ dates. You can see the full schedule and find any remaining tickets here.
In a four-star review of ‘Pink Friday 2’, Nick Levine wrote for NME: “‘Pink Friday 2’ feels like a consolidation and refinement of everything Minaj can do – including dropping pop culture references that no other artist would think of. Thirteen years after ‘Pink Friday’, Nicki Minaj hasn’t lost her ability to catch us by surprise.”
