Nicki Minaj shuts down hiatus rumours, saying she “ain’t going no-mthfkn’-where”
Nicki Minaj has denied any rumours suggesting she will be going on a hiatus soon, saying that she “ain’t going no-mthfkn’-where”.
The Queens rapper recently concluded the second US leg of her critically-acclaimed ‘Pink Friday 2’ world tour. The final gig was held in her home state of New York at the UBS Arena in Elmont, with Sexyy Red, Skeng, Young M.A and 50 Cent joining Minaj on stage.
Afterwards, a tweet from the popular Nicki Minaj fanpage NM Caviar circulated online, stating that the rapper “announced” she was going on a hiatus. When a fan asked what their source was, the blog alleged that Minaj said so during a Stationhead broadcast.
Minaj replied swiftly in a tweet of her own. She quote-tweeted NM Caviar’s post and frankly stated she “ain’t going no-mthfkn-where. Kiss my ass & HIATUS. LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.”

She further explained in another tweet: “We don’t announce the hiatus, Barbz. Crack is whack. We don’t do that. ‘Dem love chat, dem no run dem block!’ Just relax & [mediating emoji] Let what will be…be *dramatic cinematic music begins*”
A fan took the opportunity to reshare a clip from Minaj’s famous 2018 CRWN interview, which spawned many memes including one where the ‘Monster’ star emphasised: “I’m not going nowhere. I’m not going no-fucking-where.”
Last month, Minaj revealed she is working on the third instalment of her ‘Pink Friday’ album series. Many X/Twitter users hoped Minaj’s tweet meant that the album was coming next year and would also go on an accompanying tour.

There is no release date for ‘Pink Friday 3’ as of yet. Originally, Minaj announced that she would be releasing a third deluxe edition of ‘Pink Friday 2’ called ‘Pink Friday 2: Gag City Reloaded’, following on from last December’s ‘Gag City Deluxe’ and this January’s ‘Gag City PLUTO Edition’. The was meant to be released on September 13, but was later axed in favour of ‘Pink Friday 3’.
In a tweet, Minaj wrote: “The new music is just too good to be thrown away on a deluxe album. Last night, the songs I recorded were just way too iconic […] ‘PF3’ is about to do PRECISELY wtf BEEN needed to be done.”
‘Pink Friday 2’ was released on Minaj’s birthday (December 8) last year. In a four-star review of ‘Pink Friday 2’, NME wrote: “‘Pink Friday 2’ feels like a consolidation and refinement of everything Minaj can do – including dropping pop culture references that no other artist would think of. Thirteen years after ‘Pink Friday’, Nicki Minaj hasn’t lost her ability to catch us by surprise.”
In other news, Nicki Minaj is nominated for seven awards at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, including Hip-Hop Artist Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Hip-Hop Album Of The Year and Lyricist Of The Year.
