‘Buzz’ will follow 2022’s ‘Nicole’ as NIKI’s third full-length offering under 88rising. It is due for release via the Asian artist-centric label on August 9. You can pre-order physical copies of the upcoming record or pre-save the album on streaming platforms here. A track list for the album has yet to be revealed at the time of publishing.
NIKI wrote of the album on social media: “My third and best album ‘Buzz’ is yours August 9th. Made with everything I have, with some of the best, most gifted people I know.”
She continued, writing: “Inspired by the most on-the-go last few years of my life. Songs written in random corners of airports, on planes, trains, buses, backstage in green rooms, bathrooms, Holiday Inns, driving through Maryland, flying over Labuan Bajo, drunk in Mexico City, crying in Hawaii, freezing in London, walking fast in New York, heartbroken in Los Angeles.”
“Here’s an honest account of where I’m at now, which often feels like everywhere and nowhere at once. Everywhere, nowhere, and yet only the beginning.”
The second slide of her post also includes a script of poetry chronicling her emotions leading up to this point in time. Check out her post below.
Besides announcing the upcoming album, NIKI has also shared with fans the record’s first single, ‘Too Much Of A Good Thing’. It is accompanied by a black-and-white music video, in which NIKI roams the streets of New York.
NIKI sings over the song’s flirty chorus: “We could be too much of a good thing / But isn’t that a real good thing? / Oh baby, look me in the eye and say you don’t got it bad / Maybe it won’t be a sure thing.”

NIKI’s sophomore album ‘Nicole’ scored a four-star review upon its release in 2022, with Khyne Palumar writing for NME: “Though meant to confront a fickle partner who hesitates to act on love, the lyrics could just as well apply to NIKI’s relationship with music and the career choices she’s made so far. “In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take,” she sings. In recording and releasing ‘Nicole’ at least, taking what looks like a step back to move forward has paid off.”
