Nintendo confirms when it’ll be revealing more details about Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2:

Nintendo has confirmed when it’ll be revealing more details about the Switch 2.

Last month, Nintendo finally unveiled the Switch 2 via a hardware-focused teaser trailer. The brief clip featured a first-look at the bigger, more powerful console and its upgraded joy-con controllers.

Apart from a brief glimpse of a new Mario Kart game, Nintendo didn’t reveal what new games would be launching alongside the Switch 2 and still hasn’t confirmed a release date, a price or the technical specifications of the new console.

Nintendo confirmed more details would be unveiled during a special Direct presentation in April and now, the exact time and date has been announced.

Nintendo’s dedicated Switch 2 Direct will take place April 2 at 2pm GMT. Fans will be able to watch it via Nintendo’s YouTube channel and can expect “a closer look at the Switch 2.”

A few days after the Direct, fans will be able to get their hands on the new tech at special, Switch 2 experiences which are being held in major cities around the world. These run from April 4 to May 11, with fans expecting the console to be released shortly afterwards.

Earlier this week, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa reassured fans that the supply issues that plagued the launch of the original Switch won’t be an issue this time around. “We will take all possible measures based on the experience we have accumulated to date (regarding scalpers and the like). We are making preparations,” he promised.

It was previously reported that the Switch 2 had originally been set to launch last year but was delayed “to ensure the initial inventory of the successor console and a line-up of software titles at the time of its launch” would meet demand.

In other news, the team behind Avowed have shared three tracks from its gorgeous soundtrack including the main theme. Check them out here.
