NME Screens announces ‘Mickey 17’ preview screening event
In partnership with Warner Bros. UK
NME Screens will show Mickey 17, the highly anticipated new film from Bong Joon-ho – director of Oscar-winning film Parasite – at a special preview event in London on March 4. Find out how to get free tickets below.
Creating exclusive film and TV experiences for NME‘s millions of readers in print, online and social media – NME Screens was launched in March 2023, and has since hosted sold-out screenings of Amy Winehouse biopic Back To Black, Wes Anderson’s offbeat sci-fi comedy Asteroid City, acclaimed social satire Saltburn, noughties New York indie doc Meet Me In The Bathroom, sexy, stylish drama Challengers and more.
Next up is Mickey 17, a genre-bending action sci-fi mixed with dark comedy, mystery and romance starring Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun and Mark Ruffalo. Pattinson plays Mickey Barnes who, desperate to escape his life on Earth, signs up to become an “expendable” on a dangerous journey to colonise an ice planet. These disposable employees handle all sorts of life-threatening, risky jobs and, when they’re inevitably killed, are reprinted out in a new body with most of their memories intact. However, when one of Barnes’ multiples is left for dead but miraculously survives, he ends up going head-to-head with… himself.
Taking place at Everyman King’s Cross in London on Tuesday March 4, the NME Screens event comes ahead of the film’s official release. Exclusive NME merch will be on offer and tickets are free, available now via Fixr.
‘Mickey 17’ is released in UK cinemas on March 7
