Oasis to re-release ‘Some Might Say’ on vinyl to mark 30th anniversary

Oasis have announced a limited-edition vinyl reissue of ‘Some Might Say’ to mark the track’s 30th anniversary. Find all the details below.

The classic single was released on April 24, 1995 as the first preview of the Britpop band’s second album ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’, and earned them their first UK Number One.

It came with two of Oasis’ best and most notable B-sides – ‘Talk Tonight’ and ‘Acquiesce’ – along with ‘Headshrinker’. These three cuts all subsequently appeared on the group’s 1998 compilation album ‘The Masterplan’.

Oasis are set to release a limited-edition collector’s pearl-coloured, numbered 7″ vinyl of ‘Some Might Say’ on Friday April 25. Per a description, the record will “celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ seminal” first single from ‘…Morning Glory’.

It’ll boast remastered versions of ‘Some Might Say’ and ‘Talk Tonight’ on the A-side and B-side, respectively. Check out the preview image in the post below, and pre-order your copy here.

‘Some Might Say’ was the last Oasis recording to feature drummer Tony McCarroll. For the band’s second performance of the single on Top Of The Pops, Alan White replaced McCarroll behind the kit.

NME featured ‘Acquiesce’ and ‘Some Might Say’ as the first two tracks on our dream setlist for Oasis’ 2025 reunion tour, saying that the latter could be the show’s “first big hitter”.

Oasis released a vinyl reissue of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ in 2020 to mark the album’s 25th anniversary. To celebrate, Noel headed back to Rockfield Studios in Wales for an in-depth interview about the record.

Last year, Oasis shared a 30th anniversary version of their seminal 1994 debut ‘Definitely Maybe’. This milestone was also marked by Liam Gallagher’s special UK and Ireland solo tour, where he played the album in full.

In February, Oasis released a 25th anniversary reissue of their fourth studio LP ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’. Elsewhere, Oasis’ 1994 standalone single ‘Whatever’ earned huge chart success this year after it was reissued on vinyl.

Oasis are currently gearing up for their highly-anticipated 2025 comeback tour. The Gallagher brothers will play their first shows together since 2009 this summer, when they hit the road in the UK and Ireland.

Earlier this month, sources close to the upcoming Oasis Live ’25 tour revealed exclusive details of who’ll be playing in the band line-up to NME.

The trek will also see the Britpop giants play stadiums across North America, South America, Australia and Asia.

Additionally, the massive comeback is being documented in a new film – produced by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

In other news, Noel Gallagher has broken his silence on the ticket chaos that surrounded the forthcoming tour, and revealed his favourite songs by the band – including ‘Some Might Say’.
