OH MY GIRL make long-awaited comeback with new single, ‘Classified’
K-pop girl group OH MY GIRL have made their long-awaited return with the new single, ‘Classified’.
The song is the lead single of OH MY GIRL’s newly released 10th mini-album, ‘Dreamy Resonance’. Speaking about ‘Classified’, the girl group told The Korea Herald that the song is “quite different from our popular summer songs”.
“This song conveys a message of comfort to those who need someone by their side for support. As you would see in the music video for the song, we are portrayed as dolls that comfort children,” added member Yooah.
OH MY GIRL also touched on their nearly 10-year-long career together, with Hyojung saying that the girl group have “built skills in expressing music in our own way” with their “years of experience”.
“In the past, we used to be passive in interpreting our music, but these days we add our own interpretation to our music to better express the lyrics and to convey that message into our performance as well. We now have a broader musical spectrum,” she added.
‘Dreamy Resonance’ comes over a year after their last project, July 2023’s ‘Golden Hourglass’. That mini-album was the girl group’s first without founding member Jiho, who left the K-pop act in May 2022 soon after the release of their second studio album ‘Real Love’.
In other K-pop news, girl group KISS OF LIFE have announced their upcoming 2024 ‘Kiss Road’ world tour, featuring concerts in Asia and the US. The tour will be the K-pop act’s first-ever world tour, following their 2023 debut.
