Paul Rudd reveals his two favourite Marvel movies

Paul Rudd has revealed which two movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are his favourites.

Interviewed for an exclusive article on D23, Rudd was one of six MCU actors to name their top films from the superhero franchise.

“I’ve really enjoyed all the Marvel movies — and I’m not just saying that because [Marvel Studios President] Kevin Feige has my phone number. I really do!” Rudd quipped.

“But I gotta say Thor: Ragnarok and Captain America: The Winter Soldier are two of my favorites.”

Rudd has appeared as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man in five Marvel movies – including 2015’s Ant-Man, 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, 2018’s Ant-Man And The Wasp, 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and 2023’s Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania.

Fans online largely approved of Rudd’s choices, with one X user writing: “It’s cool to see what movies actors like best from the series. Ragnarok is definitely a fun one,  Taika Waititi brought such a unique vibe. Winter Soldier is a great pick too, much more serious and intense.”

Another said: “Can’t blame Paul, those films are a couple of true gems.”

“Valid choices,” added a third user, seemingly surprised by Rudd’s taste in films, commented: “Wow, he actually gave the correct answers.”

Captain America: Brave New World is the most recent MCU film to be released in cinemas, and has been met with mixed reactions from critics and fans.

In a two-star review, NME wrote: “With footage looking murky, from the opening chapel-set shoot-out onwards, Brave New World lacks the gleaming beauty of the best MCU films… This is a functional Marvel movie that offers little excitement. A few fights enliven proceedings, including one on a road lined with cherry blossom trees. But this is largely dull and disappointing.”

In other MCU news, John Malkovich recently revealed that he turned down multiple Marvel movies because the money wasn’t good enough. “If you’re going to hang from a crane in front of a green screen for six months, pay me,” the actor said.
