‘Peaky Blinders’ is heading to this multiplayer tank game
World Of Tanks has announced a crossover with Peaky Blinders for their latest limited-time event.
World Of Tanks is an online, team-based tank battle game. The Battlepass Special: Peaky Blinders goes live tomorrow (March 20) and runs until the end of the month. During that time, gamers will be able to play as five of the most formidable members of The Shelby Family: Tommy, Arthur, John, Ada Thorne and Michael Gray.
“The Shelby family enters the world of large caliber guns, bringing their guile, cunning, and grit,” reads a press release. “They know a thing or two about humble beginnings and are no strangers to fighting in the mud. Employ these rough, streetwise characters as voiced crew members—you won’t regret it!”
The ultimate reward for the event is a special, Peaky Blinders-inspired Tier IX Premium French Medium tank.
“The tank is visually styled after the combat vehicles of World War One, the conflict which shaped and forever challenged the minds and personalities of the three Shelby brothers. The details of the tank speak volumes about the things the Shelby boys hold dear,” explains an official blog. “It is a symbol of their resilience and refusal to be broken. So, while the steel might be from France, the heart of this style was forged in the streets of Small Heath, Birmingham.”
A number of themed decals and inscriptions are also available as part of the event and to celebrate, developers have commissioned a special track.
‘Over The Top’ was created by composer Aleksey Vanchuk and was inspired by Peaky Blinders’ grit, drama, and intensity. “Let its haunting melody and powerful rhythm set the stage for your rise on the battlefield. Whether plotting your next move or savoring victory, this music will keep you in step with the Shelbys.” Check it out here.
Peaky Blinders ran for six seasons between 2013 and 2022 while a full-length movie is due out later this year. Creator Steven Knight recently said the film is fantastic. “I think we’ve got the best British actors all in one place. The stuff that I’m watching, the rushes, the assemblies, no one will be disappointed,” he continued. “It’s quite an incredible thing. It’s a very fitting way to end this part of the story.”
Knight has also hinted that the Netflix film won’t be the end of Peaky Blinders with a show that focuses “on the new generation” in the works.
In other news, Sir Gareth Southgate has blamed video games for a “crisis” in young men.
