Performance line-up for Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show
Luis Fonsi, Lainey Wilson, Tanner Adell and more have been announced as performers for NBC’s annual ‘Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks’ special.
Alongside Wilson, Fonsi, and Adel, husband and wife duo Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter – better known as The War and Treaty – will perform during the live two-hour event, with four-time Grammy-nominated country artist Mickey Guyton co-hosting with Zuri Hall.
This year’s edition will also feature a 25-minute musical score produced by Grammy and Emmy Award winner, Jason Howland (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Shucked).
The score, featuring Amber Mark, Brandy Clark and Guyton, is set to celebrate “summertime classics,” and, per a press release, “will reimagine and remix iconic American tunes across a variety of genres and decades, interweaving patriotic anthems with contemporary hits”.
Jean Neal, executive vice president of live events and specials, NBCU Entertainment, said of the event: “Year after year, this telecast never fails to inspire and awe, lighting up the New York skyline with a fireworks display that’s unmatched.”
For the past nine years, the event has launched fireworks out of the East River, but this year’s edition will be moving to the west side of Manhattan, where the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks will be launched from barges along the Hudson river for the first time in over a decade.
Previous performers include this year’s Glastonbury headliners, Coldplay, who delivered a firework-fuelled ‘Higher Power’ performance for Independence Day back in 2021.

In similar celebrations last year, the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas lit up for the first time to mark the Fourth of July.
The $2.3billion structure features an exosphere made up of over 1.2million puck-sized LEDs, all of which form and transmit images across the Las Vegas skyline. The iconic venue has housed residencies from U2, Phish, Dead & Company, and more recently, the Eagles.
Last month, the band announced they’ll be doing eight-show stint at the state of the art Nevada venue.
