Phoebe Bridgers rumoured to appear in new Robert Pattinson film after being spotted on set
Phoebe Bridgers has been rumoured to have an appearance in a new Robert Pattinson film after being spotted on the set.
The speculation about the musician turning her sights to acting come following Boygenius embarking on a hiatus after dropping their critically acclaimed album ‘The Record’ back in 2023.
Since then, band members Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker have been working on their own respective solo projects, but not much has been heard about what Phoebe Bridgers has her sights set on next.
Now, it seems likely that the singer, songwriter and guitarist could be turning her sights to a film role, as she has been spotted in costume on the set of a new film called Primetime.
According to reports from Variety and Stereogum, the movie is set to be the feature film debut from Lance Oppenheim. The writer is the man behind the HBO series Ren Faire, and the upcoming film is an A24 production that sees Robert Pattinson enlisted as leading man.
The premise is reportedly about a journalist – played by Pattinson – who ends up changing the landscape of television after taking on the undercover world of crime. It seems to have been inspired by the American reality series To Catch A Predator, and an expected release date has yet to be shared.

While it hasn’t yet been confirmed whether or not Bridgers has a role in the film, if the rumours turned out to be true, it wouldn’t be her first time venturing into the world of acting. According to her IMDb page, she has already featured in projects including I Saw The TV Glow and Between Two Ferns: The Movie.
As highlighted by Stereogum, the artist has been seen with Pattinson before – meaning that a role in a film with him isn’t out of the question. Back in 2022, she was spotted alongside the Mickey 17 actor while at a GQ dinner.
In the time since Boygenius announced their hiatus, Bridgers has made on-stage appearances with Christian Lee, Soccer Mommy and Conor Oberst. Last summer her record label also announced singer-songwriter jasmine.4.t as its first UK signee.
