PinkPantheress doesn’t listen to albums: “There’s no right or wrong way to consume or make music”
PinkPantheress has admitted that she “doesn’t listen to albums”.
The singer made the admission in a new interview with Kids Take Over, which you can watch below.
She said: “I don’t listen to albums. I just listen to songs. That’s why when it came to my own album, I was like, do people care about tracklisting? I couldn’t believe it. When I saw people review my album, some people were like, ‘It’s a great album, but the tracklisting doesn’t make sense.’ I’m like, just listen to the songs.”
The singer later followed up on her comments on social media adding: “All that to say; there is no right or wrong way to consume or make music. It’s people trying to say there is that stops people from enjoying + creating art in whichever form they want. Who cares if i listen to albums in full lol. It’s music, it’s meant to be unique to everyone.”

She also recently teased on Instagram that she plans to release “new music soon”.
Speaking about her forthcoming new album she said: “I think it’s more colourful. I think my music you would put in the grey colour wheel if I had to give it a colour. I feel like I want it to be more colourful.”
Her latest comments come after the singer previously said she believes songs should be no “longer than two-minutes-30”.
She added: “I was able to experiment and making short songs was just a result of me experimenting. A song doesn’t need to be longer than two minutes 30, in my opinion. We don’t need to repeat a verse, we don’t need to have a bridge, we don’t need it. We don’t need a long outro.”
Her longest song to date is ‘Capable Of Love’ from her debut album, ‘Heaven Knows’ released last November. The track stands at three minutes and 43 seconds, while most songs on the record range between two and three minutes. By comparison, her 2021 mixtape ‘To Hell With It’ is 10 songs long and only three of them are longer than two minutes.
Her most recent release was ‘Turn It Up, which was released back in May.
Music legend Dionne Warwick has since taken online to voice her disagreement with the singer, arguing that “a bridge is important” when it comes to letting a song breathe.
