Pinkpantheress issues new single ‘Tonight’ with ‘Bridgerton’-inspired music video

Pinkpantheress has issued a new single titled ‘Tonight’ with a Bridgerton-inspired music video.

‘Tonight’ marks the latest music released by the singer-songwriter since 2024’s ‘Turn It Up’, which itself was her sole new material following her 2023 debut album ‘Heaven Knows’.

Last January, Pinkpantheress announced that she is “soooo back” to release new music this year – and ‘Tonight’ is the first. “the Tonight music video is out now honey💋💋 we went bridgerton mode tf”, she tweeted today (April 4).

Its music video, directed by Charlotte Rutherford, shows Pinkpantheress – in a full 19th century-era dress – hosting a party in a grand palace. The night gets more debauched and surreal as it goes on, with a man stepping out of a portrait, its DJ spinning records on gramophones, and a woman flailing amongst unbothered revellers with her hair on fire.

‘Tonight’ leans closer to her synth-powered dance pop sound, as exemplified in ‘Turn It Up’ and ‘Heaven Knows’, instead of the UK garage production of mini-album ‘To Hell With It’. Watch the music video below.

On New Year’s Day, PinkPantheress shared two photos of herself working on her laptop, with music production software visible on the screen – hinting at new material following her brief hiatus.

“Oh, we are soooo back! #2025” she tweeted, “I missed y’all [heart emoji] Thanks for waiting on me [teary-eyed emoji].”

In January, Pinkpantheress featured on ‘True Religion’, the Shygirl single with Isabella Lovestory.

NME reviewed the London date of her 2024 ‘Capable of Love’ tour, awarding the show four stars and describing the gig as “a relentless extravaganza” that served as “a launchpad to showcase her newfound confidence on stage.”

Last July, she unfortunately had to cancel all her remaining dates “to focus on [her] physical health and overall wellbeing”. This meant she would no longer co-headline Field Day 2024 or open for Coldplay on the Australasian leg of their ‘Music of the Spheres’ world tour.

PinkPantheress also featured on the laidback ‘Snap My Finger’ from Kaytranada’s third studio album, ‘Timeless’ and the remix of LE SSERAFIM’s viral hit, ‘Crazy’ last year. She also had an uncredited feature on ‘Pink XOXO’ from Camilla Cabello’s latest album, ‘C,XOXO’.

When ‘Heaven Knows’ was released, NME gave the record four stars, writing: “Ultimately, what makes ‘Heaven Knows’ such a compelling debut is its ability to create British wistfulness. The emotions and sounds are familiar enough to pull you in, and peculiar enough to make you stay. Heaven knows the boundaries of Pink’s talent to come.”
