PlayStation Plus is getting a recently-released epic next month

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is coming to PlayStation Plus

PlayStation has confirmed a trio of new games for its Plus subscription service – including a massive AAA title that was only released last year.

PlayStation Plus is a subscription-based service that gives members access to a rotating library of titles, spread across three tiers – Essential, Extra and Premium. As well as streaming the games, users can also download and keep them for as long as they have an active membership.

Last night (February 26) Sony confirmed three new titles coming to PlayStation Plus this March, including the recently-released Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The long-awaited sequel from BioWare originally launched on October 31 last year and currently costs £69.99 via the PlayStation store.

From next week though, PlayStation 5 users subscribed to any of the Plus tiers will be able to play Dragon Age: The Veilguard for free.

Also coming to PlayStation Plus next month is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection and Sonic Colors: Ultimate. The games will be added to the service on March 3 and players will have until March 31 to download them.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launched with strong reviews but according to a report by Bloomberg, the game failed to meet EA’s sales expectations by almost 50 per cent. The same report claims Dragon Age: The Veilguard only sold 1.5million copies in its first three months.

However developers have explained that they expected a mixed reaction to Dragon Age: The Veilguard. “The reality was whatever we came out with, it was never going to match the Dragon Age 4 in people’s minds and people’s imaginations,” said creative director John Epler. “It’s not trying to be all things to all people. It’s trying to be itself, it’s trying to be the game that it wants to be. I think you’re going to get those much more polarised reactions that way than if you make something that tries to be a little bit of everything.”

Earlier this year, Sony confirmed that from 2026, PlayStation Plus will be “shifting focus” to PS5 players.

In other news, Warner Bros. has confirmed their Wonder Woman game has been scrapped in favour of more Harry Potter and Game Of Thrones titles.
