Porno for Pyros to Reschedule Reunion Tour Dates: ‘We’ve Pushed the Tour a Few Months’

Porno for Pyros postponed the tour that was scheduled to kick off next weekend, on Oct. 8.

“We are beyond thankful for all of your support these last 30 years, and are anxious to celebrate our 30th anniversary with you,” said a statement from the Perry Farrell-fronted band on Instagram Friday (Sept. 29). “Whilst rehearsing for our first tour in 25 years, we’ve also been in the studio creating new music – that we were hoping to get to you in time for these shows. Unfortunately, we have had to move the dates for the upcoming tour as we were not able to begin our campaign in time.”

“So, we’ve pushed the tour a few months from now, in order for everyone to hear and appreciate the new material that is finally finished. Listen up for the new music in the upcoming weeks and keep an eye out for new tour dates. We’re coming!” the update said.

In July, Farrell said that the band would regroup for their first tour in 25 years for an outing they called Horns, Thorns En Halos. The Jane’s Addiction singer and Lollapalooza co-founder’s announcement included 21 dates. The tour would have run from Oct. 8 to Nov. 20.

Porno for Pyros formed in 1992 following Jane’s Addiction’s first split. The group released two studio albums, their 1993 self-titled debut and 1996’s Good God’s Urge. The band’s “Pets” was featured on their debut, and “Tahitian Moon” was on their sophomore release. They went on hiatus in 1998 and briefly reunited in 2009 for Farrell’s 50th birthday, and then again in 2020 for that year’s Lollapalooza YouTube show during the COVID-19 pandemic. The reunion tour would have followed a small handful of performances in 2022.
