Publishing Briefs: UMPG Signs ‘Poor Things’ Composer Jerskin Fendrix

Universal Music Publishing Group‘s Classics and Screen division has signed Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness composer Jerskin Fendrix to an exclusive, global publishing agreement. A favorite of Yorgos Lanthimos, the director discovered Fendrix after the release of his debut album Winterrise and encouraged him to pursue film scoring. The acclaimed Lanthimos film Poor Things became Fendrix’s first ever score.

Reservoir has signed platinum-selling producer and songwriter Aaron Zuckerman to a publishing deal. The mind behind songs like “Devil Doesn’t Bargain” by Alec Benjamin, “Dreams” by Lil Wayne, “2 Souls On Fire” by Bebe Rexha featuring Quavo, “Write One” by Karley Scott Collins featuring Keith Urban, and “White Claw” by Yung Gravy and Shania Twain, Zuckerman is renowned for his ability to move dexterously between genres.

Kobalt has announced the renewal of its worldwide publishing agreement with country star Mae Estes. Estes, who struck her first publishing deal with Plaid Flag Music/Kobalt in 2020, is quickly becoming a star in Nashville. On the label side, the Arkansas native is signed to Big Machine.

Regalias Digitales, a leading independent music publisher specializing in Latin music as well as other non-Latin genres, has signed a number of new publishing deals. This includes Omed Rozbayani (co-writer of “Freak N You” and “I Did It” by DJ Kahled), Weathers (indie rock/pop band), SIAMES (indie pop act), Mo’Kalamity (international reggae), Clinton Fearon (Jamaican reggae and leader of The Gladiators), The Crane Wives (indie folk/pop group), Katastro (alternative band), C.M.L. (hip-hop act), Payroll Giovanni (Detroit hip-hop talent).
