Radscorpions can now burrow up buildings in ‘Fallout 4’
It seems that Radscorpions can now burrow up buildings in Fallout 4, making them even more terrifying.
Radscorpions are a core part of the Fallout enemy list, causing all sorts of trouble for players new and old thanks to a wicked combination of poison, high HP and the relatively small area of vulnerability that needs to be exploited to best them.
Clips of Radscorpion jumpscares and frustrated Reddit posts about how much players hate the beasts have become a regular occurrence, but it seems that the monster has learnt a terrifying new skill.
Taking to the Fallout 4 subreddit, user GTC99 shared a video showcasing the “world’s most athletic Radscorpion”. In the clip, the player is standing on top of a tower block and takes a pot shot at a Radscorpion on the ground. Being several storeys in the air, he then turns his attention to a Legendary Raider on a nearby rooftop, however the music quickly changes and their companion Dogmeat raises the alarm. Turns out the Radscorpion has somehow burrowed into the ground following the earlier shot, and tunnelled to the very top of the building to take their revenge. As GTC99 explains, “I nearly shit myself.”
“That’s the Usain Bolt of Radscorpions,” reads one reply to the clip, with another saying “They’re so fucking agile it’s scary!” However, it’s not known if this extreme burrowing teleportation is a bug, or an intended part of Fallout 4, with other players experiencing something similar with Ghouls and Molerats. The clip comes after Bethesda released the long-awaited next-gen update for the game.
Fallout 4, like most games in the franchise, has seen an explosion in players following the success of Prime Video’s Fallout TV series. Last month, a teaser for season two of the show confirmed the return of a fan-favourite character from the games, with the action heading to New Vegas.
