Rihanna asks GloRilla when she is releasing her debut album: “I know dis wild hypocritical…”
Rihanna has asked for an update on GloRilla‘s long-awaited debut album, despite knowing that it is “wild hypocritical” of her to do so.
Earlier this week, the Memphis rapper shared a carousel of photos from a recent party held in her honour by her label, CMG. In the pictures, you can see GloRilla hanging out with her boss Yo Gotti, Megan Thee Stallion, NLE Choppa, Coco Jones and more.
At the end of the post, the ‘Yeah, Glo!’ star showed a screenshot of an Instagram DM from Rihanna. The Bajan singer reached out first, writing: “You got all summer sis! I know dis wild hypocritical, but when the album drop?”
The message came after a video of Rihanna reciting the lyrics of GloRilla’s latest single ‘TGIF’ to A$AP Rocky: “It’s 7pm, Friday / It’s 95 degrees / I ain’t got no n**** and no n**** ain’t got me.”

Fans in the comment section beneath Glo’s post agreed that the ‘Pon De Replay’ star’s message was presumptuous.
One wrote: “Ri asking for an album is diabolical asf”, whereas someone else said GloRilla should have “sent the reverse uno card to RiRi [because what do you mean].” Another user joked: “IS THE AUDACITYYYYYYYY IN THE ROOM WITH US?!?”
Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from Rihanna for eight years now – her latest album being ‘Anti’, which arrived in 2016.
Despite not dropping an LP in nearly a decade, Rihanna recently broke the record for having the most diamond-certified singles by a female artist. She also became the first woman to have 10 songs reach one billion streams on Spotify last summer.

Last December, rumours of Rihanna’s musical comeback surfaced after reports emerged claiming she had signed a new deal with Live Nation. It was speculated that she would go on a world tour either this year or in 2025, but there have been no announcements yet.
Recently, Rihanna shared details on her upcoming ‘R9’ LP. In April, the star said she had material she felt she “could make hits out of”. Additionally, she told Extra that she felt the album would represent “the evolution” of her sound.
Last month, she spoke about the delay of her ninth record, saying she was “starting over” and “rediscovering” what she wanted ‘R9’ to be like.
In 2023 – while talking to Good Morning America – GloRilla shared an update on her highly-anticipated debut album. She said she was “excited”, adding: “I plan on going Number One. I’ve gotta make a song that gone have all the girls screaming and another anthem.”
The record will serve as a follow-up to her second mixtape, ‘Ehhthang Ehhthang’, which she released earlier this year, and featured the viral track ‘Wanna Be’ with Megan Thee Stallion. Cardi B hopped on the remix of the song and called out fellow rapper BIA.
Currently, GloRilla is touring North America, opening up for Megan Thee Stallion on her ‘Hot Girl Summer’ tour. You can visit here for any available tickets.
