Today (October 11), SM Entertainment production house Wizard Production released a statement through the boyband’s X (formerly Twitter) announcing that Seunghan will be ending his nearly year-long hiatus and rejoin as a member of RIIZE next month.
“Because there was no announcement regarding Seunghan’s activities, the fans went beyond curiosity to become worried and concerned, and we empathise with those feelings,” Wizard Production wrote, as translated by Soompi. It added that it had been debating the timing of Seunghan’s return “from various angles”.
“We poured our heart and soul into planning out RIIZE even before their debut, and we have determined that RIIZE’s next chapter would be even more meaningful if the seven members were together,” it said. “We plan for Seunghan to gradually participate in some of the group’s scheduled activities for November and greet the fans once again.”

Shortly after the news broke, Seunghan took to fan community platform Weverse to post a handwritten message to fans. “First of all, I sincerely want to apologise to the members and the fans. When my pre-debut photos were released, although they were photos of me, I was deeply regretful and disappointed in myself,” he wrote.
The singer added that his bandmates had been supportive of him throughout his break and his now-upcoming return. “It must have been a very difficult decision, and I am filled with gratitude and remorse for this second chance they have given me,” he said.
Seunghan then wrote that he is determined to “work harder and do better” to prove himself to his bandmates and agency, and that he would not “tarnish” the good reputation that RIIZE have built since.
The singer had gone on hiatus in November 2023, just two months following the group’s debut. At the time, the label said that the hiatus was “related to his private matters that were recently leaked and distributed through online channels”.
