Rob Schneider asks estranged daughter for forgiveness: “I wish I was the father in my twenties you needed”
Rob Schneider has asked his estranged daughter, Elle King, for forgiveness after she publicly discussed their strained relationship.
In a new interview on the Tucker Carlson Show podcast, the comedian and actor addressed King’s comments after she said that she didn’t “want to be associated” with her father.
“I wish I was the father in my 20s that you needed. And clearly, I wasn’t,” said Schneider. “I hope you can forgive me for my shortcomings. I love you completely and I love you entirely.”
Schneider said he just wanted her “to be happy and to heal from this.” He added: “I wish you the best. I feel terrible. I just want you to know that I don’t take anything you say personally.”
The apology comes just a day after King told Bunnie XO on her Dumb Blonde podcast that Schneider was “just not nice” and that she had no plans to fix her relationship with him.
“I disagree with a lot of the things that he says,” said King. “You’re talking out of your ass and you’re talking shit about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights. And it’s like, get fucked.”
She also claimed that the comedian sent her to “fat camp” because she was a “really heavy child,” and said he was “very toxic and very silly.”
King also shared that she didn’t speak to her father until she was “much, much older,” and that Schneider would forget about “every single birthday.”
“You can want someone to change so much. You can’t control anyone else’s actions; you can’t control people’s feelings,” she said. “All you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings. And sometimes I fucking boil up and I boil over and I fucking bust my lid.”
In other news, an old interview with Blake Lively recently went viral after the journalist claimed it made her “want to quit” her job.
