Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day dressed up as Beavis and Butt-Head for ‘The Fall Guy’ premiere

Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day reunited as Beavis and Butt-Head on the red carpet premiere of Gosling’s The Fall Guy this week.

The two had appeared in cosplay as the ‘90s animated duo during a Saturday Night Live skit on April 13, where their co-star Heidi Gardner corpsed and broke character,

And now, they have dusted off their prosthetics and attire for an unexpected appearance on the red carpet at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on Tuesday night (April 30) as well.

Gosling stars in the new action comedy film alongside Emily Blunt, who was left to field most of the press questions at the event while Gosling sneaked off to get into character as Beavis, joined by ex-SNL star and Is It Cake? host Day.

In The Fall Guy, which is loosely based on the ‘80s series of the same name, Gosling plays a stuntman who is working on his ex-girlfriend’s directorial debut action film, only to find himself involved in a conspiracy around the film’s lead star. It also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham and Stephanie Hsu. The film is out in cinemas on Friday (May 3).

In the film, Gosling cries in his car as he is singing Taylor Swift’s ‘All Too Well’, a song he also performed while hosting the episode of SNL last month.

Taylor responded to his rendition of her track, writing on social media: “All Too Well (Ryan and Emily’s Version) !!! Watch me accidentally catch myself singing this version on tour. This monologue is EVERYTHING.”

It comes after Gosling performed a showstopping version of ‘I’m Just Ken’ at this year’s Oscars alongside Mark Ronson and Slash.

That song was co-written by Ronson, who has said that he believes it has had a prolonged effect on some of its audience. “I know I’ll sound like David Brent, but the song helped young boys,” he said.

“My friend’s eight-year-old got broken up with and he said, ‘It’s OK, because Ken got broken up with by Barbie.’ The song tells boys that it’s OK to be runner-up,” he added.

“The internet’s caused a level of isolation in boys and this idea of male camaraderie and sharing your feelings is a nice and unexpected thing to come out of it.”
