Sam Smith drops new version of ‘I’m Not The Only One’ with Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon
Sam Smith has released a brand-new version of his 2014 hit single ‘I’m Not The Only One’, featuring K-pop singer Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation.
The release is the second new version of ‘I’m Not The Only One’ that Sam Smith has released in recent weeks, following one with Alicia Keys. That version appeared on the 10th anniversary edition of his 2014 debut studio album, ‘In The Lonely Hour’.
This re-recorded version of ‘I’m Not The Only One’ with Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation features brand-new Korean lyrics during the first verse and half of the bridge, while the two pop stars come together for the final chorus.
Aside from the ‘I’m Not The Only One’ re-recordings with Keys and Taeyeon, Smith has also released re-recordings of this other singles. They include ‘Stay With Me’ with Mary J. Blige or Utada Hikaru, ‘Lay Me Down’ with IZA or John Legend, among others.
Meanwhile, Taeyeon’s last solo release was the mini-album ‘To. X’, which came out in November 2023. It followed her immensely successful third studio album, ‘INVU’, which spawned the popular singles ‘Weekend’, ‘Can’t Control Myself’ and title track ‘INVU’.
In other music news, Lauryn Hill recently performed a surprise set at her high school reunion party. It came shortly after the recent cancellation of her North American tour with the Fugees.
Meanwhile, Flavor Flav has reportedly submitted his bid to become a torchbearer at the 2028 Olympic Games. During an appearance on the Politickin’ podcast, the rapper said that “if Snoop can carry the torch in Paris – come on, man – Flav can carry that bad boy in LA”.
