Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs breaks silence with new Instagram post from jail
Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs has broken his silence by sharing a new Instagram post, despite currently being in jail.
The disgraced rapper was arrested in New York last month and subsequently charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transporting for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Diddy was later denied bail after offering a $50million (£38.4m) bond, and was reportedly placed on suicide watch as he awaits trial. The artist has since appealed against the bail denial. His trial date is scheduled for May 5, 2025.
Now, Diddy has shared his first post on Instagram in almost three months. He returned to the social media platform last night (October 15) to wish his daughter Love a happy second birthday.
In the caption to a series of photographs of his youngest child, Combs, 54, wrote: “Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday baby Love! Happy Birthday to you!!.
“Happy Birthday @loveseancombs daddy loves you .” You can see the post below.
Combs is in federal custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York City. He is next expected to appear in court on December 18. According to Rolling Stone, he could face up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.
Diddy, who is a father of seven, shares Love with his ex-girlfriend Dana Tran, 30.
He is also dad to son Quincy Brown, 33, son Justin Combs, 30, son Christian ‘King’ Combs, 26, daughter Chance Combs, 18, and twin daughters Jessie and D’Lila Combs, 17, per Page Six.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Diddy could potentially face new lawsuits from around 120 people accusing the rapper of sexual abuse and assault – including 25 minors.
More claims emerged in a separate lawsuit last month, in which a woman alleged that Diddy and his bodyguard drugged, raped her and filmed the incident in 2001 – the bodyguard has not addressed these claims. Diddy has denied criminal wrongdoing, according to BBC News.
Additionally, new information about Diddy’s alleged arson attack on Kid Cudi’s car was recently revealed in a newly unearthed Los Angeles City Fire Department report. Diddy has not yet commented on the arson allegations.
Diddy’s mother, Janice Small Combs, responded to the rapper’s sexual abuse allegations in a statement on October 6.
“My son is not the monster they have painted him to be, and he deserves the chance to tell his side,” she said. “I can only pray that I am alive to see him speak his truth and be vindicated.”
Since his arrest, various reports suggested that Diddy was not eating in prison out of fear of being poisoned.
Meanwhile, Jodeci member DeVante Swing has been named as a new co-defendant in Diddy’s sexual abuse lawsuit. Swing has not yet responded to the allegations.
