Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno has told NME about his recent on stage appearance with Noel Fielding, and revealed what the band have planned next. Read the interview below, or watch the video above.

The singer made an appearance at the 2025 BRIT Awards this weekend, where he presented Sam Fender with the trophy for Best Alternative/Rock Act. Ahead of the ceremony, Pizzorno spoke with NME on the red carpet about Kasabian’s recent stop at Shepherds Bush Empire.

The show came as part of the BRITs Week War Child 2025 gigs – raising money to protect and educate children impacted by conflict.

“It was beautiful. The world is so messed up at the moment, so any opportunity you can get to bring people together, play a show and make some money for an amazing cause [is needed],” he said. “The Shepherds Bush Empire is special and it was carnage.”

He also told NME about the surprise appearance from actor and comedian Noel Fielding on the night, who took to the stage after Kasabian’s performance of ‘Vlad The Impaler’.

“I’ve known him for a long time now. It was beautiful because he was kind of stood there [on the side of the stage]. He was looking at me, I was looking at him, and he went ‘Nah!’,” Pizzorno explained. “But when the song ended, he came out. [He] had to tell some jokes in the end because the song had already finished!”

The gig was far from the first time that the Mighty Boosh star was seen with the band. Back in 2009, he starred in the music video for the aforementioned 2009 track, and has made many guest appearances at Kasabian shows in the time since.

When asked whether the band would enlist him for any future music videos, Pizzorno replied: “He’s part of the family, I’m sure it’ll happen again.”

The frontman also reflected on the response to the band’s latest album ‘Happenings’, and revealed whether fans can expect any more surprises following their unexpected set at Glastonbury last summer.

“The new tunes feel like they’ve been around for years, so things are great,” he said. “There will be some surprise announcements imminent within the next year or so. We’re going to be in the studio putting pen to paper…”

In a four-star review of ‘Happenings’, NME wrote: “At just 28 minutes in length, Kasabian’s eighth studio effort is concise, precise and generally focused. This allows a vibrant emotional clarity to bleed through its swaggering fabric, adding up to Kasabian’s strongest album in some years.”

This spring, Kasabian are set to perform with Blossoms as part of an upcoming Australian headline tour. Visit here for remaining tickets.
