‘Shōgun’ and ‘The Bear’ lead the nominations for the 2024 Emmys

'Shogun' and 'The Bear'

The nominations for the 2024 Emmys are out, and FX’s Shōgun leads the way with the most nods. Read on for the complete list of nominations below.

The Bear (with 23 nominations), Only Murders In The Building (21), True Detective: Night Country (19) and The Crown (18) round out the top five nominees, behind Shōgun’s impressive 25.

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards honour the best in American television, covering the time from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024. The ceremony will be held on September 15 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on ABC in the US. No host has yet been announced for the show.

The nominees were announced from Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre by Tony Hale (Veep) and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary).

The 2023 Emmys took place in January this year, after a postponement due to the Hollywood strikes. The Bear and Succession walked away as the biggest winners of the night, with The Bear clinching Outstanding Comedy Series, and Succession taking home the award for Outstanding Drama Series. The Bear won a total of six awards, while Succession won seven.

Several of the other shows named by NME as the best TV of 2024 so far are also represented in the nominees, including Baby Reindeer, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Fallout.
