Shout Out Louds to celebrate 20 years of ‘Howl Howl Gaff Gaff’ with special London show
Shout Out Louds will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘Howl Howl Gaff Gaff’ with a special show in London later this year. Find all the details below.
The Swedish band gave the record an international release in 2005. It contains songs such as ‘Please Please Please’, ‘Very Loud’ and ‘The Comeback’.
Now, the group are set to perform the album in its entirety at The Dome in Tufnell Park, north London on Saturday November 16.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am BST tomorrow (Wednesday June 12) – you’ll be able to buy yours here.
In a statement, Shout Out Louds said: “20 years ago, our debut album ‘Howl Howl Gaff Gaff’ took us on a journey all over the world. We played the same songs every night for about four years, and some of those songs are still on every one of our set lists.
“For us, performing a song live causes it to change over time. In the setting of a concert, through the human element of an audience, many of our songs have found their truest form, and we are sometimes taken by surprise when we go back to the recordings.”
The band also reworked some songs from the album for a new EP, ‘Howl Howl Gaff Gaff Revisited’, which was released in April.
“With this EP we wanted to explore two things; what the songs would sound like if they had been recorded ‘today’, and what 20 years of live performances does to a song,” Shout Out Louds explained.
“We ́re thrilled (and relieved) that the sincerity that shaped these songs back in the day was still there, with the same intensity.”
The group have released five more studio albums since ‘Howl Howl Gaff Gaff’ in the form of ‘Our Ill Wills’ (2007), ‘Work’ (2010), ‘Optica’ (2013), ‘Ease My Mind’ (2017) and ‘House’ (2022).
