Slayer announce first UK dates in six years – including huge outdoor London show
Slayer have shared details of their first UK shows in six years, including a massive outdoor gig in London. Check out the details below.
The thrash metal are set to hit the UK for their first shows since a slot at Download in 2019, and will be joined by an impressive number of support acts.
Two shows have been announced as part of the new tour, with the first being held at the Blackweir Fields in Cardiff on July 3, and the second taking place at Finsbury Park in London three days later (6).
The dates come in celebration of 40 years since the band formed, and the two shows mark the biggest gigs they have ever played in the UK. They are also the only two headline shows that the band will play in Europe in 2025.
According to a new description, the concerts are expected to be “a celebration of everything the iconic band and their fans have built together”, and feature “a career-spanning set, stage production like you’ve never seen before, and a night of pure thrash fury that will be remembered forever.”
Support will come from melo-death metal pioneers Amon Amarth, fellow thrash icons Anthrax, progressive sludge metal heavyweights Mastodon, hardcore giants Hatebreed and rising talent Neckbreakker.
Tickets go on sale this Friday (March 7) at 10am GMT. Visit here to buy tickets and find a list of dates below.
Slayer’s UK 2025 tour dates are:
JULY
3 – Blackweir Fields, Cardiff
6 – Finsbury Park, London
Slayer played their first shows in five years last autumn, when they appeared at two US festivals: Riot Fest Chicago and Aftershock. They had retired in 2019 following the ‘Final Campaign’ leg of their farewell tour.
Recently, the band announced an appearance at Festival d’été de Québec in July – their first Canadian gig in six years – as well as a slot at Louder Than Life 2025 in Louisville, Kentucky this September. Afterwards, they began dropping hints that they’d be heading across the pond.
Their visit to the UK also comes as they have another gig planned for this summer – taking part in Black Sabbath’s huge final-ever concert at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham on July 5.

Although the band last performed in the UK back at Download Festival in 2019, their final tour dates on this side of the pond took place the year prior and included a stop at London’s Wembley Arena.
Another way that Slayer have been celebrating four decades is by launching a virtual museum for fans called the Slaytanic Verses. This includes rare memorabilia, exclusive insights, untold stories and more, and is available to view here.
