Snoop Dogg may have earned $9million from Olympic appearances
Snoop Dogg stole the spotlight on multiple occasions during this year’s Paris Olympics, and now he seems to have suggested that he made $9million from the appearances.
The events kicked off on July 26 with an epic opening ceremony along the river Seine, featuring Lady Gaga performing French cabaret song ‘Mon truc en plumes’ and Gojira performing French Revolution song ‘Ah Ça Ira!’ with opera singer Marina Viotti.
Throughout the two-week stint, it was West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg who continuously seemed to steal the spotlight – making headlines for his appearances around the events and even performing at the closing ceremony.
Now, he has taken to social media to suggest that he made a hefty amount from the 2024 event, with profits seemingly totalling $9million (£6.9m).
On his Instagram page on Friday (August 16), the rapper reposted a video that broke down all of the appearances he made while in Paris during the time. “This is the main star of the Paris Olympics. Snoop Dogg, a top rapper, gets over 40m rubles daily for his presence at the Paris Olympic Games,” the video said.
“Snoop also lives and parties in Paris for free, all to bring more attention to the Olympics,” it added. “Almost every top broadcast features Snoop. He attends all major Olympic events. For 17 Olympic days, he’ll earn nearly $9million.”
It follows on from various rumours that arose about the artist’s connection with the Paris Olympics earlier this month, with some speculating that he was taking home a cool $500,000 (£385,000) per day for his shenanigans at the Paris Olympics.
“Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner, he said Snoop gets paid $500k a day plus expenses to be here promoting Olympics. From ‘Gin and Juice’ to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics—what a world,” one user wrote on X (via Complex), with others suggesting that they had heard about similar figures being thrown around.
While the figure that Snoop earned from his time in Paris remains unconfirmed, his sharing of the Instagram video seems to indicate that the statements mentioned in the clip may not be too far-fetched, and there is no dispute that he remained one of the biggest talking points of the 2024 games.

He was seen from the get-go of the event, when he kicked off the 2024 instalment by carrying the Olympic torch through a suburb in Paris. “I look at this as a prestigious honour and something that I truly respect,” he said beforehand. “I would have never dreamed of nothing like this.”
From there, he turned heads for appearances including his link-up with former professional swimmer Michael Phelps, his dapper appearance at the dressage event – despite being scared of horses – and presenting gymnast Simon Biles’ dad a Death Row Records chain as a 75th birthday present.
For the final day of the events, he performed at the Olympic closing ceremony alongside Billie Eilish and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
In other Snoop Dogg news, it has been recently reported that the rapper’s new album with Dr. Dre, ‘Missionary’, has been targeted for release in November.
