Stalker 2 faced a number of delays throughout its production with the Ukrainian-based team having to contend with the ongoing invasion by Russia. The game had been set to launch in September 2024 but was delayed until this week to give the team “the chance to fix more ‘unexpected anomalies’ (or simply ‘bugs’, as you call them).”
The game finally launched yesterday (November 20) but players are already experiencing issues with graphics, performance and the way NPCs and enemies spawn. “We know that this system is very important to the Zone having an immersive atmosphere, and we will do our best to fix the known issues,” said one community manager on Discord.

Stalker 2 is in a rough state, which is a shame because I'm enjoying it when it runs smoothly
It randomly drops to below 20FPS when I reload saves (which happens a lot because this game is TOUGH)
It's understandable, but I'd wait until it's patched pic.twitter.com/UsiBYh1rXs

Now developers have shared a lengthy message promising to fix the issues. “This is a project of endless love and passion from the entire team. We genuinely believe that this is felt throughout. There are so many things in the game that we are incredibly proud of,” they wrote.
“Nevertheless, Stalker 2 is a massive game. We understand that in such a game, there may still be rough edges: we literally haven’t released anything of this scale before. We’re absolutely committed to being here, monitoring your feedback, and quickly fixing any issues that need our attention. In the first days after release, we’ll be working with hotfixes, rolling them out as precisely as possible, but as frequently as we can. “

After the first wave of bugs are fixed, developers will switch to “larger updates that include constant improvements” as well as free in-game content. “We have big plans for the Stalker universe. In a way, today is both a return and the beginning of a grand new journey.”
Stalker 2 is the fourth game in the Stalker franchise and follows on from 2009’s Call Of Pripyat. “Discover the vast Chornobyl Exclusion Zone full of dangerous enemies, deadly anomalies and powerful artifacts. Unveil your own epic story as you make your way to the Heart Of Chornobyl. Make your choices wisely, as they will determine your fate in the end,” reads the official description.
In other news, Stardew Valley has confirmed details of the ‘Symphony Of Seasons’ global concert tour which will see a 35-piece orchestra perform beloved songs from the hit game.
