When the Shattered Space DLC drops on September 30, Starfield players will be able to explore over 50 new locations on the new planet of Va’ruun’kai, the hidden homeworld of House Va’ruun. They are a governmental body that worship a deity known as the Great Serpent that they believe created the galaxy and appear to be a big part of the upcoming DLC.
As well as extra places to explore, there will be new weapons to craft. You can get new grenades that “stem from organic material […] and it’s gross”, says Bethesda. What exactly these could be remains unknown, but given all the talk of snakes in the DLC trailer, it could be some form of shed skin that can be collected and crafted.
Thank you to the millions of players who have made the Settled Systems their home and helped make this an incredible first year for @StarfieldGame.

New locations and weapons also means new enemies to face. Bethesda warns that players will face off against “Redeemed and Vortex Horrors”, and says we haven’t seen the last of the Zealots, Spacers, or the Crimson Fleet, so we should be seeing some old factions returning too.
Fans seem excited for this expansion. Kenycruz wrote, “the best game of this generation!” and MarcoKelly_23 wrote, “50 new locations More content along the way.” Several other replies simply asked when the PC and Xbox exclusive game is coming to PlayStation, but there’s no answer for them.
If you need something new to do in Starfield while you wait for Shattered Space, you could try the Star Wars Genesis mod. It includes an original story, 10,000 rewritten voice lines, and overhauls the sound and music, so it should feel like a new game.
In other news, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launched to widespread critical acclaim last week.
