Steven Spielberg is apparently such a big PC gamer that he refuses to use a controller: “Only keyboard and mouse”
Everyone has their preferences when it comes to gaming, and for Steven Spielberg, that means refusing to pick up a controller even if it means missing out on some excellent stories.
In an interview with MinnMax, Max Spielberg, son of the E.T. director Steven Spielberg, revealed that his dad has a real disdain for video game controllers, and out-right refuses to play any game that requires him to use one.
“He loves story games and I’m always trying to get him to play Uncharted because it’s Indiana Jones and I’m like, ‘Hey, you’d appreciate this.’ But he’s like, ‘I can’t do controllers. I can only do keyboard and mouse,” explained Max.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, are both available on PC, but maybe Steven wants to play through the stories in order. The first three games are exclusive to PlayStation.
“He loves gaming,” said Max. “He’s the one who got me into it. He plays games. He’s a big PC gamer. So that’s kind of our bonding point as well. He’s like, ‘Hey, what’s good? What Call of Duty should I be playing? Send me a list of the top five shooters and I’ll get them downloaded, then we can play them together when you come over to the house.”
His father well and truly passed on the passion because Max is a video game developer and has been for some time, working at EA on the Battlefield series and now the creative director and co-founder of a studio called FuzzyBot.
It seems Steven is more of a Call of Duty fan, though. “It’s always a Call of Duty,” added Max. “He loves Call of Duty. He plays the story campaign.”
In other news, Hans Zimmer has released his new theme for Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
