Susie Cave’s cult fashion brand The Vampire’s Wife – as worn by Florence Welch and Kylie Minogue – to shutter
The Vampire’s Wife – Susie Cave’s fashion brand beloved by Florence Welch and Kylie Minogue has announced that it will be closing.
The designer – who is married to Australian musician and writer Nick Cave – took Instagram to share that The Vampire’s Wife will be shutting its doors. “After ten years as The Creative Director of The Vampire’s Wife, it is time for me to say goodbye,” began the caption of her post.
She continued: “I say this with great sadness and want to express my undying gratitude to you all for your support. I wish to thank my extended family at The Vampire’s Wife who helped me create such beautiful things. I cannot describe how much you have all meant to me. I love you all, Susie x.”
The high-end brand, sported by the likes of Florence Welch, Kate Moss, Kylie Minogue, the Princess of Wales and others first opened in 2014. It was known for its Falconetti dress which featured sharp shoulder pads and a cinched waist as well as its use of jewel toned and bright coloured lamé fabrics.
The brand was also known for their custom beaded tote bags worn by the likes of Harry Styles, Brad Pitt and more
“Despite a period of positive growth and sales, the upheaval in the wholesale market has had dramatic implications for the brand,” read a statement from the brand.
Harry carried The Vampire’s Wife Book Bag (custom made for him) while filming a music video in Italy.

“The Vampire’s Wife would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all clients, partners and those who have worn the brand these last ten years. Your support has been invaluable and we are deeply grateful,” the brand’s statement continued.
They also announced that “There will be a final, physical sale, allowing fans of the brand one last opportunity to buy, on the 24th, 25th and 26th of May at The Music Room, Mayfair, London, W1K 5JF.”
Speaking about the brand in one of his is Red Hand Files entries, Nick shared: “The work that we do — Susie with The Vampire’s Wife, and me with my own work — is a form of self-actualising that emerges from the energy of our relationship.”
